iTunes book store in the works?

There's a rumour going round the Web that iTunes would be selling ebooks, for Apple's iPhone, naturally.

An April Fool's joke, this one, when any kind of out of the ordinary news on that particular day  should be, rightly, taken with a bit of salt?

It is true, now, that the iPhone has been gaining popularity over the Kindle and Sony Reader for reading ebooks.  Apparently some publishers have released ebook versions of their stock for iPhone customers.

A few months back Apple CEO Steve Jobs's said something about Amazon's Kindle : "It doesn’t matter how good or bad the product is, the fact is that people don’t read anymore. Forty percent of the people in the U.S. read one book or less last year. The whole conception is flawed at the top because people don’t read anymore."

In view of this, his less than enthusiastic vision of people not reading anymore, we can taste the salt in the iTunes book store news.

    Hello Mr Leon Wing,

I'm a writer looking to self-publish a book of poetry, and I emailed various people in the blogosphere for feedback. Sharon Bakar suggested that I approach you for critique, but so far I haven't been able to find an "email Leon Wing" link (or similar). Would it be possible for me to get in touch with you please?

Thanks for your time, and hope to hear from you soon.

    Cheers,

    Florentyna

PS: Puisi-poesy is like a Lit student's dream come true. I like :)
